The Silk Scarf


Settings:

The setting in place for our story is Oriental Plaza in Johannesburg.

The setting in time is during apartheid era in South Africa.

Main characters:

Mrs. Nebo
Ø Mrs Nebo is a wife of the future foreign Minister of that country, Clive Nebo. She was of medium height, with heavy loins. She lived in the white suburb of Houghton. Also, Mrs Nebo had bodyguards and her chauffer drives a Mercedes Benz. Mrs Nebo was a friend to Margaret. She is very rich, thus she dresses in designer clothing and expensive jewellery. Ms Nebo had no respect, especially toward the poor, she also likes showing herself off.

Mr Sakur
Mr Sakur was a shopkeeper in Moghul Boutique shop. He is a good person when it comes to justice and fairness in the way people are dealt with. Mr Sakur did not want to accept Mrs Nebo's cheque because, he wanted to treat all people the same way. Also, Mr Sakur is a man who believe in himself and he never get intimidate of anyone. Furthermore, he is a heartless person and he can work together with anybody to reach an agreement.

Plot:
The story is about Mrs Nebo and her friend Margaret when they went to the Oriental Plaza for an organized journey for shopping. They were walking from shop to shop. Mrs Nebo saw a lovely Indian dress on a dummy in the shop through the window and she decided to buy it. Mrs Nebo then had to find a matching scarf for her dress. She went to a shop called Moghul Boutique where he got a perfect silk matching scarf. She decided to take it but later she realized that she was not having enough money. The only option she had was to buy with cheque, but she was very unfortunate that the cheque was unacceptable. She felt offended because her cheques had never refused everywhere she used it. Margaret tried to defend her fried, he asked the shopkeeper; Mr Sakur if he knew who Mrs Nebo was and that she lives in Houghton. She told him that Mrs Nebo that Mrs Nebo is a wife of the future foreign Minister of that country, but he was still not willing to change his opinion. One of the shopkeeper who knows the impact of offending a wife of important politician, Mr Sader urgently request Mr Sakur to accept the cheque but still this costs nothing. Lastly, Mr Sader suggested the y will buy the scarf and present it as a present to Mrs Nebo. Mrs Nebo smiled happily after receiving the gift and thanked the traders.
